I am hoping you are doing better today Nicole. It is such a long, hard road to the top of the mountain but once you are there you can slide right down!

I think of you so often these days and pray for a speedy recovery for you. You are such a special young woman and a delight to know. I know they must miss your smiling face at Ridgewater and will have a very special welcome for you when you return.

Keep the faith, you can do this and life will once more be good.

Remember, Friends are God’s way of taking care of us and you have LOTS OF FRIENDS NICOLE :-)

You still shine even at your lowest points. Amazing that is the word that comes to mind when I think of the visit we had on Saturday. You just broke a temp and still radiate a glow of beauty. You are always in our prayers and continue to inspire us to believe and conquer that all is possible. I know each day forward your faith, strength, and healing will be stronger….. because you…..FIGHT LIKE A GIRL! (And that’s a good thing)!

What a wonderful day this will be. The sun is to be shining and you can finally leave the hospital. It has been such a dark, dreary, cold month that you really haven’t missed a thing.

I pray you continue to climb that hill at a steady pace…just don’t wear yourself out trying to do more than you should. Let everyone be there for you….they want that and you need it.

    Hugs to you Nicole.

That is so exciting to get out of the hospital. You are such a strong and loving person. I want the best for you. You have taught me so much on what matters in life. It is family and friends that you love and return that love that are important. Keep up your strength and lean on all of us that love you.

    Hello Nicole,

Congratulations on your quick release. I was so amazed and delighted to learn you have been discharged already. Wow! That was really fast.

I had been planning to visit you this week but I’ve been out sick. My daughter has the H1 N1 flu and I have not been feeling very well so I didn’t want to risk exposing you or any of the patients on the BMT unit to these nasty germs. So I missed your big release.

My prayers will continue to be with you. May God continue to bless you on your on healing journey or, as your dad might say, “Keep on Kicking Butt!”

Blessings to you and your family,

    Marla Amborn

    Hi Nicole,
I have been reading your journal and am glad you could keep us informed as your progress improves. The good news of the day that the multiple myeloma is gone, and your transplant is successful, and that you are coming home is wonderful. You must have felt that someone threw you a curveball or something. I know you realize that perseverance, and simple things like your friends and family, really mean the most in life. Congratulations, and great going Nicole!

Yeah! I am so happy the test results came back clear. What a miracle! So very happy that you finally were able to go back home, where things are always better. Your strength throughout all these months is just incredible. I just don’t know how you could always keep such a positive attitude while going through all you’ve been through. You’re family is just amazing, too. I’m sure it has been very difficult for your kids, but the bond you have is just heartwarming.
I hope the next few months of healing go easily for you, with no setbacks.
I was so glad to run into you and the kids at the store those couple of times. Funny how we hardly ever ran into each other before….
    Take care, Love you!

I am so glad to hear that you are doing well. From the time I got out of the hospital untill the past couple of weeks I did not have acces to a computer so could not keep up with your progress. I am back to work, however just a few hours a week yet, so that is where I can use the computers. I have my 100 day checkup next week and then will be cleared to work as much as I feel able and not have to worry about my immune system.

It is a long process but sure seems to be worth it for me. I am sure you feel the same.

Christmas will mean a lot this year as we both are thankfull to be here to spend it with family.

God bless you and yours! Jackie

Hi Nicole, I just read your latest entry and I am exhausted…..can just imagine how YOU must feel, ha! You will have learned enough to get a medical degree by the time this is over. I am glad you continue to tolerate the transplant, that is wonderful! Your kidneys seem to be coming back and you must be so thrilled. You are playing a balancing act right now, as they increase or decrease dosages, lengths of treatments. Nature has such a way of making our bodies run, and medicine struggles to match it’s work. I am glad to know that you get such good care and that you are so aware of changes happening and you report them to your doctors. You have been through so much, you deserve to see improvement.

So happy for you that your children bring you so much joy. I am sure this has not been easy for them. I had a very sick mother most of my childhood and remember not being able to concentrate on anything else. It must feel good to get back to work, something familiar to you and distracting. Seems you have a lot of people around you who care about you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, hope you continue to improve.
